Clinical Presentation

Low back pain with referral to the left leg. Reduced straight leg raise. Dampened ankle jerk, L5/S1 weakness. Disc prolapse?

  • 1Normal segmentation.Large L5/S1 left paracentral disc extrusion, filling the left lateral recess and indenting the thecal sac
  • 2This is impinging on the descending left S1 nerve root.No impingement of the exiting L5 root.The remaining levels are normal in appearance.L1 conus.
